Trust before the deal.
After seeing Tawk’s performances with REDACTED , I reached out to him. He was already attracting a lot of interest at the time, so I knew that earning his trust would take more than simply presenting myself as another agent.
We started talking, and I was willing to make concessions, including reducing my commission, because I wanted to show from the beginning that the relationship came before what I could earn from it. I then spoke with his father, with Cyril , an agent within the Tailors network, also bringing his experience and perspective into those conversations. Together, we were able to build the trust that was needed.
We did not sign immediately. Before asking Tawk to commit to working with me, I wanted to show him how I worked. I found the opportunity with Virtus.pro , led the negotiations and secured a major deal for him. Only after that did we formalise our relationship.
That process says a lot about the confidence I had in Tawk from the start. Today, I also have a very close relationship with his family, which I believe is especially important when representing a young player. Together, we are building his career with a long-term view, making sure every opportunity and every deal also makes sense for what comes next.
